Getting to Hakuba
For first timers, Japan can be a bit
daunting. Masses of people, a strange language, a new
currency...
But with a little preparation, it is not that difficult to get
to Hakuba.
Most people arrive at Tokyo's Narita
Airport, which is located about 60km outside of Tokyo in Chiba
Prefecture. The main thing to remember here is that if you
arrive after about 2PM, it is not possible to use scheduled
public transport to Hakuba and arrive the same day. Check out
our airport transfers page to
overcome
this.
Having said that, most people like
to try the super fast Shinkansen Bullet trains at some stage
during your trip. The closest one runs from Tokyo Station to
Nagano. For details on this route, see our
Tokyo page.
Japan is not just a ski destination,
and you may like to explore some of the rest of the country, and
enjoy the 1,500year old temples (we can even book a stay in one
if you like), or explore the latest technology in this this
gadget crazy land.
Our professional staff will be able
to assist you with any travel arrangements you need, either
before you arrive, or while you are here. Do not hesitate to
ask.
